A Summer of Weddings

I don't know about you guys, but the Summer of 2018 is starting to feel like full blown wedding season! I've always heard that statement, but it's never felt more true for me until now. These last few months have been full of weddings, wedding planning, and engagements.

May 2018

May kicked off with the beautiful wedding of my friends: Heather & Alex. It was a HOT day out, but the wedding was gorgeous. The two were married overlooking a farm field and the receptions was held in a giant brown barn in Oconomowoc, WI. We sat with all of Aaron's co-workers and their wives and had an absolute blast all night!

I first met Heather a few years ago at Automotion (for those of you who don't know- this a huge car meet held at Wisconsin Dells). Alex works with my fiance, Aaron, and they have known each other for years. Aaron also went to high school with the couple. What I love most about Heather and Alex is their easy-going personalities. And these two are also high school sweethearts!

I'm so happy for the both of you- Congrats you guys!

June 2018

June was the month of planning. We booked our ceremony and reception venue and showed close family and friends the location. At the end of the month, we met with my wedding decorators-Heavenly Creations Events- to discuss centerpieces, chair covers, and backdrops. We also got to see our wedding invitations for the first time, big thanks to Shelby Lynn Designs!

Aside from all the planning, the weekends were full of back to back event set-ups. I work for Heavenly Creations on the weekends to help set up decorations and tear down weddings. And June was quite a busy month!

July 2018

This month was incredibly exciting because my best friend finally got engaged! On July 5th, I got an early morning phone call from Courtney. I remember thinking it was really strange that she was calling me so early (if you knew her like me, you'd know that she is far from a morning person). As soon as I answered the phone, I knew by the sound of her voice.

Courtney and Eric had both been in Colorado for their friends wedding. It so happens that these friends getting married are also professional photographers. So before the wedding, Eric took Courtney to watch the sunrise in the mountains and got down on one knee. What an incredible view and such a thoughtful proposal! So naturally when they got back in town, Courtney and I had to go out and celebrate. And of course there were some ring shots, because why not?

Being engaged with my best friend is incredibly exciting and I'm so lucky that I get to experience this together with her. I'm so fortunate to have so much to look forward to in these next few months and years.

I finished off July visiting a long time friend from middle school and high school, Alice. Her wedding was held in Iowa in a state park overlooking a beautiful lake. The reception was held in a woodsy lodge.

I had such a lovely time visiting with Alice's family and getting to know other guests. She made a beautiful bride! Alice, I wish you all the best as you start your new journey with Alex!

What an incredible summer it's been already. I can't believe that it's the first of August today! I'm so full of love and happiness and I know that this is a summer to remember. What has filled your summer days so far? Let me know in the comments!
